Das Import Export Festival ist zurück. Vom 4. August bis 9. September 2023 präsentieren wir lokale und internationale Künstler:innen der experimentellen Popmusik. Wir zelebrieren die Überwindung von Grenzen für ein Festival hybrider Kulturen. Zu hören ist keine Weltmusik, sondern globale zeitgenössische Musik, als progressiver Ausdruck einer sich verändernden Welt. Das Festival trägt seit 2023 den Namen PHRE. Inspiriert durch den Afrofuturisten Sun Ra, der sich Genregrenzen widersetzte. Stattdessen präferierte er die Neuschöpfung PHRE – die Musik der Sonne. Tickets im Vorverkauf. The Import Export Festival is back! From the 4th of August to the 9th of September, our venue will be the host of several local and international experimental pop music artists. Together, we’ll celebrate the overcoming of binary borders amid hybrid cultural festivities. What you hear is not world music, but global contemporary music, as a progressive expression of an ever changing world. The festival has been named PHRE since 2023, a name inspired by Afrofuturist Sun Ra, who resisted genre boundaries. Instead, he set his eyes on this new creation PHRE – the music of the sun. Tickets are in presale now. With the PHRE Pass for 48 € you get admission to six concerts.
