Anna Setton
The great Brazilian Jazz composer, guitarist and vocalist is a special figure: she shaped her voice and musicality navigating through São Paulo jazz night, travelled the world for 5 years alongside the great legend Toquinho, dived into the lakes of jazz, bossa nova and MPB and from there emerged with a fresh, melodic and original music. In this concert Anna presents her own compositions and arrangements, showcasing her powerful and intimate voice while performing alongside her trio.

Hall of Sudden
Hall of Sudden ist das Duo des portugiesischen Saxophonisten Gonçalo Mortágua und des japanischen Schlagzeugers Minori Shimayama. Beide leben in München und vereinen in ihrer Musik ihre vielfältigen internationalen Erfahrungen – von Jazz, Funk und Latin bis zu experimentellen Klängen – zu einem dynamischen, genreübergreifenden Sound voller Energie und improvisatorischer Freiheit.
Hall of Sudden is a Munich-based duo featuring Portuguese saxophonist Gonçalo Mortágua and Japanese drummer Minori Shimayama, blending their diverse international backgrounds into an energetic, genre-crossing sound driven by improvisation.
Gonçalo Mortágua (Saxophon)
Der in Lissabon geborene Saxophonist studierte Jazz an der Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa und an der Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden. 2015 zog er nach Berlin, wo er Teil der Jazz-, Latin- und Afro-Szene war und als freischaffender Künstler mit Namen wie Alice Phoebe Lou, Jembaa Groove, A Panda do Sol und Günter Baby Sommer zusammenarbeitete. Er trat bereits auf Bühnen wie dem Supersonic Jazz Festival, dem Jazz Café (London), BBC 6 Radio, South by Southwest und dem Funkhaus Berlin auf. Heute lebt er in München und ist immer mal wieder in verschiedenen Projekten aktiv, darunter Embryo, JISR, JJ Whitefield und Golden Langur.
Minori Shimayama (Drums)
Minori Shimayama, born in 1984 in Yokohama, Japan, grew up in a musical family. He began drumming at 13 and by 15 was performing in local bands. After studying at Yamaha Music Foundation and Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, he left to work as a session drummer, collaborating with artists like Chuck Rainey and members of The Wild Magnolias. In 2005, he toured the U.S., meeting blues legends such as B.B. King and Phil Guy. The following year, he worked with bassist Louise Louis Kabe alongside notable Japanese musicians like Char and Alan Merrill. Expanding beyond Blues-Rock, he played Jazz-Fusion, Funk, Latin, and Pop sessions. Since 2011, Shimayama has lived in Europe, working in London with musicians linked to Amy Winehouse and Babe Ruth, and joining projects across Italy, Poland, and Latvia. Based in Munich since 2017, he continues performing and recording with various international acts.
