What’s happening Behind the Green Door?
A festival as a passage: four days, three spaces, one uninterrupted journey through music and exploration. From September 10–13, 2025, Munich becomes the playground of sonic infinity. Across St. Matthäus, ZIRKA, and Import Export, the city opens its doors to the very first edition of INFINITE FESTIVAL.
Celebrating its 8th birthday, the Munich collective Behind the Green Door unveils this debut edition: a program that fuses local voices and international sound worlds into one flow, one evolving experience. What began as an underground gathering has grown into four days of music without losing its intimacy or sense of discovery.

On the 13th of September elevation meets eruption. You will witness not just a concert at Import Export, but a levitation, an ascent inward that resonates far beyond the evening. Which reaches climax at Zirka where all previously built energies ignite in sparks and flames.

Sophia Jani-Six Pieces for Solo Violin, performed by Teresa Allgaier
[DE] Die Komponistin Sophia Jani und die Geigerin Teresa Allgaier stellen ihr neues Album Six Pieces for Solo Violin vor, das 2024 beim Münchner Label Squama Recordings erschienen Ist. Jani komponierte Six Pieces for Solo Violin zwischen 2020 und 2023 und fordert damit die Vorstellung von Einfachheit als Parameter heraus, indem sie einen Geflecht aus sanfter Konsonanz webr Nachdenken einlädt und die Geige als Instrument ehrt.
[EN] Composer Sophia Jani and violinist Teresa Allgaier present their new collaborative work Six Pieces for Solo Violin‘, which was released 2024 on the Munich-based label Squama Recordings. Jani composed Six Pieces for Solo Violin between 2020 and 2023, and with it challenges the notion of simplicity as a parameter, weaving a tapestry of gentle consonance that invites contemplation and honors the violin as an instrument.

[DE] Der in München lebende Schlagzeuger und Komponist Simon Popp schlägt sich mit einem feinen Gespür für Timing und Stimmung durch polyrhythmische Strukturen. Er kontrastiert erdige und luftige Klänge, verwischt die Grenzen zwischen der elektronischen und akustischen Welt und setzt so ein kraftvolles Statement dafür, was zeitgenössische Schlagzeugmusik heute sein kann: Eine satte Klangwelt, die sich der kompletten Bandbreite aller Schlaginstrumente bedient. Mal treibend, mal meditativ.
[EN] Exploration and play are at the core of Simon Popp’s creative process. Trained in jazz drumming and polyrhythm, the Bavarian-born artist draws from a vast array of percussive instruments to build his expansive sound palette. Popp’s ravenous musical curiosity resonates throughout his extensive output, both as a solo artist or through his collaborative projects like Fazer, 9ms, Poeji, or Polygonia & Popp.
Alabaster DePlume
[DE] Gus Fairbairn, alias Alabaster DePlume, hat eine ganze Reihe von Redewendungen parat, die er ständig verwendet, egal ob er die Straße entlanggeht oder sich mit Musikern und Publikum unterhält. Lange Zeit sagte der Mann aus Manchester jedem, der es hören wollte, dass er sehr gut sei. In letzter Zeit verwendet er eine andere Redewendung, die eine ähnliche Wirkung hat und sein unerschütterliches Bekenntnis zu persönlicher Verletzlichkeit und kollektiver Politik widerspiegelt: „Vergiss nicht, dass du wertvoll bist.“
Ein Prozess, bei dem der Mensch und nicht das Produkt im Vordergrund steht, sorgt dafür, dass die Musik einzigartig ist. Die Songs von Alabaster DePlume basieren auf klangvollen, kreisförmigen Melodien und leuchtenden Tönen, die Ruhe und Großzügigkeit in warmen Wellen vermitteln – es sei denn, sie wettern gegen Selbstgefälligkeit und die alltägliche Unmenschlichkeit des Endzeitkapitalismus. Vor allem aber bringt er eine wertvolle Transparenz in seine Arbeit ein. „Das ist es, was ich wirklich tue“, sagt er. „Ich möchte darüber sprechen, warum ich das tue und wie ich das tue.
[EN] Gus Fairbairn, aka Alabaster DePlume, has a pocketful of phrases that he uses all the time whether he’s walking down the street or holding court with musicians and an audience. For a long time the Mancunian would tell anyone who’d listen that they were doing very well. More recently, it’s another phrase which has a similar effect and which belies his unwavering commitment to personal vulnerability and collective politics: “Don’t forget you’re precious.”
A process that is people-first not product-first ensures that the music is unique; often gem-like. Alabaster DePlume’s songs are built on sonorous circular melodies and luminous tones that transmit calmness and generosity in warm waves – unless they’re raging against complacency and the everyday inhumanity of end times capitalism. Most importantly, he brings a valuable transparency to his work. “This is what I’m really doing,” he says. “I want to talk about why I’m doing this, and how I’m doing this.
