What’s happening Behind the Green Door?
A festival as a passage: four days, three spaces, one uninterrupted journey through music and exploration. From September 10–13, 2025, Munich becomes the playground of sonic infinity. Across St. Matthäus, ZIRKA, and Import Export, the city opens its doors to the very first edition of INFINITE FESTIVAL.
Celebrating its 8th birthday, the Munich collective Behind the Green Door unveils this debut edition: a program that fuses local voices and international sound worlds into one flow, one evolving experience. What began as an underground gathering has grown into four days of music without losing its intimacy or sense of discovery.

On Friday the 12th of September the Immersion happens at Zirka: dive into unique worlds of sound and visuals, where the boundaries between audience and performance dissolve. Meeting the well known Psychedelic Porn Funk Experience at Import Export: the night turns into a ritual on the dance floor – queer, raw, and affirmative.

[DE] Mitsune verbindet traditionelle japanische Volksmusik mit den wilden und innovativen Klängen psychedelischer, cineastischer und ritueller Musik und erschafft eigene Kompositionen, die alten Erzählungen neues Leben einhauchen. Das Berliner Quartett um zwei weibliche Shamisen-Spielerinnen, ergänzt durch Percussion und Bass, präsentiert moderne Folklore voller treibender Rhythmen, roher Emotion und extravagantem Kostümdesign. Mit ihrer multikulturellen Zusammensetzung aus Musikern aus Japan, Australien und Griechenland hat Mitsune weltweit Aufmerksamkeit erregt und wurde von Publikationen wie dem Rolling Stone und dem Songlines Magazine gelobt („durchweg exzellent“, „ein Ensemble mit einem Ozean an Potenzial“). Ihr Album Hazama aus dem Jahr 2022 schaffte es in die Top 10 der Transglobal World Music Charts und wurde für den Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik nominiert. Ein Folgealbum soll 2025 erscheinen.
[EN] Mitsune combines traditional Japanese folk music with the wild and innovative sounds of psychedelic, cinematic and ritual music to create original compositions that breathe new life into ancient tales. The Berlin-based quartet, featuring two female shamisen players complemented by percussion and bass, presents modern folklore full of driving rhythms, raw emotion and extravagant costume design. With its multicultural line-up of musicians from Japan, Australia and Greece, Mitsune has attracted worldwide attention and has been praised by publications such as Rolling Stone and Songlines Magazine (‘consistently excellent’, ‘an ensemble with an ocean of potential’). Their 2022 album Hazama made it into the top 10 of the Transglobal World Music Charts and was nominated for the German Record Critics‘ Award. A follow-up album is scheduled for release in 2025.
Konomono
[DE] Konomono ist eine fünfköpfige Krautrock-/Psychedelic-Band, die im Winter 2023 gegründet wurde. Die Bandmitglieder haben unterschiedliche musikalische (Shoegaze, Jazz, Dream Pop, Afrobeat) und kulturelle Hintergründe (chinesisch, schweizerisch und arabisch). Im Gegensatz zum klassischen Krautrock, der sich oft auf den motorischen Flow der Songs konzentriert, spielen sie lieber mit der hypnotisierenden Qualität einfacher Melodien, die sie über eine klassische Krautrock-Songstruktur legen. Ihre Songs sind in Sprachen wie Japanisch, Chinesisch, Kantonesisch, Arabisch und Englisch geschrieben – ein Versuch, diese als verschiedene Klanginstrumente zu nutzen.
[EN] Konomono is a five-piece krautrock/psychedelic band founded in winter, 2023. Members of the band are from different musical (shoegaze, jazz, dream pop, afrobeat) and cultural backgrounds (Chinese, Swiss and Arabic). Unlike classical krautrock which often focuses on the motorik flow of the songs, they prefer to play with the hypnotising quality of simple melodies on top of a classic krautrock song structure. Their songs are written in languages such as Japanese, Chinese, Cantonese, Arabic and English – an attempt to use them as different sound instruments.

[DE] Rainbowhead, das Garage Psych Rock-Trio, lässt sich von keinerlei Regeln einschränken. Ihre Musik ist eine lebhafte und experimentelle Reise, die zeitlos und zeitgemäß zugleich ist. Stellt euch drückende Gitarrenparts vor, die an Hendrix erinnern, und epische instrumentale Passagen, die euch auf eine melodische Reise durch die Jahrhunderte mitnehmen, alles zusammengehalten von lässig-stürmischen Drums. Seit mehreren Jahren begeistert Rainbowhead das Publikum im Süden Deutschlands mit ihrem authentischen und unverfälschten Sound.
