Hey! Douglas + Gleis 11

Do. 16.02.23

Konzert

Einlass: 19:30

Beginn: 20:00

The twin earthquake which occured in the southeast of Turkey on Monday, 6 February, has caused damage and destruction on a massive scale; the dimension of the tragedy is beyond imagination. Dozens of thousands of people have lost their lives, dozens of cities have crumbled and billions of people are left without a home on both sides of the border with Syria. We are overwhelmed with GRIEF, RAGE, and DESPAIR. The catastrophe has caused massive damage with very long-term physical, psychological, social, and economic effects. We are standing at the ready for the next stage, where we will start wrapping the wounds using the healing power of music but it is still too early yet.
We are looking forward to brighter and joyful days where we will meet. Thank you very much for your interest. Sending love and good wishes to you all. – Hey! Douglas

Because of the disaster in Turkey and Syria, we are deeply saddened by this ongoing situation and wish the best for the people who are desperately waiting for help and getting rescued. Unfortunately, this situation will not resolve quickly. Because of the damage given by earthquakes, this extreme hazard will last longer than we could expect. Since this wound is still bleeding, we believe it is not respectful and right to have any concert at the moment.  Our hearts are beating with the earthquake victims. – Gleis 11

Hey! Douglas

EN: Do you know why we have the „Gleis 11“ name? Following the agreement, many guest workers came to Germany between 1955-1973. Actually, the first stop for these guest workers was Gleis 11 in Munich Hauptbahnhof. The immigration waves have started with this generation and now it’s still on. With our group, we would like to introduce you to what Turkish guest workers have been listening to. The majority of this music was covered by Anatolian Psychedelic Rock which is like a fusion of Anatolian folk and rock music.
