Founded in 2021 by the Greek-German duo Local Suicide, Iptamenos Discos is a visionary label and a love letter to space exploration. Originally created to release their critically acclaimed debut album Eros Anikate, the label quickly expanded to champion a diverse range of electronic music, putting out EPs and singles by artists such as Dina Summer, Wiener Planquadrat, Boys’ Shorts, Curses, Kalipo, Skelesys, Psycho Weazel and many more. Drawing inspiration from the 80s and 2000s while reimagining these styles for today, Iptamenos Discos showcases Synth Wave, Dark Disco, Electroclash, Indie Dance, EBM, Italo Disco, and other forward-thinking sounds. Translated from Greek, Iptamenos Discos means “flying saucer” or “flying disc” – a nod both to the label’s cosmic rhythms and sci-fi-inspired synth lines, and playfully referencing vinyl records.

The label’s party series Iptamenos Diskotek combines live performances and club nights, and has already stopped in cities including Berlin, Paris, Thessaloniki, Munich, and Vienna. On November 15, it lands at Import Export, Munich, with hybrid DJ/vocal sets by Local Suicide (Greek-German) and Wiener Planquadrat (Vienna), a full live concert by Munich-raised Chuck Winter (Vienna), and a DJ set by local hero and label friend Lily Lillemor.

Local Suicide & Wiener Planquadrat

Local Suicide and Wiener Planquadrat share more than just a musical wave length – theirs is a long-standing creative friendship, built over countless nights, shared stages, and a deep mutual understanding of the darker corners of electronic music. Having already released two collaborative tracks, “Flashdance” & “LightItUp”, and worked together on remixes for artists such as You Man, Ali X, AFFKT, Nuclear Digital Transistor and Idoru, the duo now presents their new single ‚“DerApfelFälltNichtWeitVomStamm” on Iptamenos Discos showcasing their evolving sound. The song was written in 2024 in LocalSuicide’s Berlin studio and went through countless revisions in studios across both Berlin and Vienna until it reached its state of perfection. The single stands out as one of the most accessible tracks this collaboration has produced so far: a left field pop song that unfolds like a slow-moving fog creeping through a late-night club: mechanical yet sensual, minimal yet immersive. It drifts somewhere between dark disco and synth pop steering clear of typical dance floor formulas in favor of something more hypnotic, more internal. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree – and that tree is rooted in a shared history between two acts who’ve spent years honing their sound on parallel trajectories.

Local Suicide

Local Suicide are recognized as one of the most influential duos in the dark electronic underground scene. Since 2008, the Greek-German pair have shaped the sound of darkdisco, EBM, post-punk and indie dance through countless releases on cult labels like Bordello A Parigi, Lumière Noire, TAU, Eskimo Recordings, and Ombra INTL. Their work has been featured in DJ Mag, Mixmag, Der Spiegel, Rolling Stone and Tsugi, and they even appeared – as themselves – in the German TV show Fett & Fett on national broadcaster ZDF.

Wiener Planquadrat

Wiener Planquadrat, the Vienna-based duo of Michael Weilerand Maximilian Atteneder, made their mark in 2021 with “Stillstand”, a breakout debut that climbed the dance charts in Austria and Germany. Their 2022 EP “Dschungel”, featuring remixes by T.Raumschmiere and Tech Support, blended analog grit with indie-rave melancholy, signaling their refusal to play by genre rules. In recent years, they’ve performed live in Berlin, Paris, and Thessaloniki, released remixes for artists like Oberst & Buchner, Dina Summer, Kalipo, and more. The fact that Wiener Planquadrat were the very first artists to ever release on Iptamenos Discos – with their hit “Stillstand” in 2021 – makes this release feel like a full-circle moment. “Der Apfel Fällt Nicht Weit Vom Stamm” isn’t just another single. It’s a subtle reminder of how powerful a connection can be when it’s built not on strategy, but on trust, friendship and shared experience.

Lily Lillemor

One of Munich’s finest, Lily brings an electrifying energy to every set, blending dark disco, deep house, synth wave, and EBM with a bass-heavy punch. She grew up with a passion for punk and hard rock, and it shows in her raw, dynamic sound.

Always keeping her audience on their toes with unexpected twists and deep grooves, Lily’s sets are an immersive experience. Her natural rhythm and strong connection to the crowd make every performance feel personal and unique.

Chuck Winter

Fanfare-like 80s synths combined with 808 and 909 machines evoke Robert Görl and early NDW analog techno. Elements of Rio Reiser and Nena also find their way into the sound. Francophile listeners may be reminded of Air through his basslines, while the beats carry the drive of modern French pop. Lyrically, Chuck Winter navigates the space between euphoric, endorphin-fueled highs and dark dystopia, often finding something beautiful in everything – most of the time, anyway. And yes, it’s danceable, with a vibe that feels like an afterparty or the irresistible urge to hit the club.
