JAZZTIFY! lehrt uns aufs Neue, wie weit man Genrebegriffe ausdehnen kann, bis sie verschwimmen ohne zu verschwinden.
Rhabdomantic Orchestra
In dieser Edition füllt das Rhabdomantic Orchestra unsere Bühne. Das offene Musiker:innenkollektiv aus Turin bekam für seine bisherigen Alben weltweit Aufmerksamkeit und Lob von der Presse. Ihre einzigartige Genre-Mixtur aus Afrobeat, Spiritual Jazz, Salsa, mediterranen Anklängen und psychedelischen Drifts ist das Ergebnis intensiver Studien und Kollaborationen mit Künstler:innen aus aller Welt. Ihr zuletzt erschienenes Album „Almagre“, bei dem die kolumbianische Sängerin Maria Mallol Moya mitwirkte, wurde von der Ästhetik des Surrealismus und des südamerikanischen Magischen Realismus inspiriert. Freut euch auf ein intensives Live-Erlebnis mit ekstatischen Orchestrierungen.

Booty Carrell forscht in den Tiefen des Vinyl-Universums und begibt sich dorthin, wo Musiker weltweit begonnen haben, regionale Traditionen mit westlichem Gestus zu verschmelzen. Ob in der Türkei, im Iran, in Rumänien, Pakistan, Frankreich oder auch in Deutschland – Carrell ist bekannt dafür, dass er Minderheiten-Pop und vernachlässigte Welthits liefert, die die Welt auf den Kopf stellen können. Aber vor allem bringt er Sie zum Tanzen. Seit Jahren bringt Booty Carrell die Tanzflächen in Europa zum Glühen.

In this edition, the Rhabdomantic Orchestra fills our stage. The open collective from Turin received worldwide attention and praise from the press for their previous albums. Their unique genre mix of Afrobeat, spiritual jazz, salsa, Mediterranean echoes and psychedelic drifts is the result of intensive studies and collaborations with artists from all over the world. Their latest album „Almagre“, featuring Colombian singer Maria Mallol Moya, was inspired by the aesthetics of Surrealism and South American Magical Realism. Booty Carrell
Booty Carrell is the DJ alias of Vinyl archaeologist, Golden Pudel resident and outernational deejay Sebastian Reier. Carrell does his research in the deep spaces of the vinyl universe. He digs into the second wave of musical globalization. And he sets off where musicians around the world have started to melt regional traditions with a western gesture. Be it in Turkey, Iran, Romania, Pakistan, France or even Germany — Carrell is known to deliver minority pop and neglected world hits that can turn the world upside down. But first it’ll make you dance! “Making Global Sound Local” is the slogan of his DJ crew B-Music that can be found around Andy Votel and Doug Shipton‘s record label Finders Keepers. For years, Booty Carrell has been keeping the dance floors in Europe burning and catering music in the Hamburg-based record store Groove City. His show Groovie Shizzl is broadcasted bi-weekly on the internet radio station ByteFM. Since September 2020 he is taking care of music at Münchner Kammerspiele in Munich, Germany.
