RELEASE SHOW: I SPLIT MY ORGAN IN TWOS
A special night celebrating the release of I SPLIT MY ORGAN IN TWOS, the clarinet-heavy and Hayday-smelling debut album by local shoegaze project plainhead. The lineup is completed by the wonderful Hallway + brand new project Blume 3000.
plainhead
The goal is to become the loudest band in town!“ Well that is not (entirely) true. „Mom! The music isn’t even that loud!“ but they definitely will resonate with your inner windows, shaking them up until they break apart. Next to their teenage dream of becoming the Sunn O))) of Bavaria, writing good songs will forever be the main goal within the bedroom walls. The gang of friends (aka the band) turn it up on stage – infectious fun mixed with crushing sadness in between the noise. Kind of like a synthesis of Alex G + bands such as Duster & early Animal Collective.
Heavily influenced by a new generation of shoegaze bands + more, they are like dogs who were trained to stick to the mission to bring the GAZE into town.
The debut album I SPLIT MY ORGAN IN TWOS is a collage of early childhood memories & dreams where animals could speak and parents would never grow old. The double LP is released via local DIY recording label new basement.
Hallway
Influenced by ‚post-Elliott Smith‘ bands, Hallway finds its niche somewhere between folk rock and shoegaze. A saxophone meets a big muff pedal, acoustic guitars meet bubbling synthesizers, slowcore meets jazz rock. The self-titled EP Hallway is a collection of old songs that were recorded in the rehearsal room with cranked up guitar amps and wild saxophone runs.
Blume 3000
Miri (vocals, bass) & Bruno (guitar) met in 2015 while working for the uni newspaper. They instantly bonded over their shared passion for (guitar) music and pop culture. Being a total guitar geek Bruno helped Miri buy her first own bass after she decided to follow in Kim Gordon’s footsteps in becoming a “girl in a band”. After countless conversations about fuzz pedals, inspiring bands and walls of sound, it finally happened in late 2023. Their band Blume 3000 was born. Because, just like a flower, their sound also needed time to grow…just kidding. The Munich based duo focuses on channeling emotions out of guitar effects, noise and German language.
