[DE] Nach dem Erfolg seines Debüts Evocazioni e Invocazioni präsentiert der kalabrische Sänger und Multiinstrumentalist Davide Ambrogio sein neues Projekt Mater Nullius.
In seiner Arbeit verbindet er traditionelle Rituale aus Kalabrien mit zeitgenössischen Fragen. Mit eindringlichen Songs, erdigen Percussion-Klängen und elektronischen Elementen entsteht ein intensiver Sound, der die Entfremdung des modernen Menschen von der Natur und die Suche nach dem eigenen Ursprung thematisiert. Getragen von vier Musikern verschmilzt hier Spiritualität mit experimenteller Klangkunst.
[EN] Following the success of his debut Evocazioni e Invocazioni, Calabrian singer and multi-instrumentalist Davide Ambrogio presents his new project Mater Nullius.
His work blends traditional Calabrian rituals with contemporary questions. Through haunting vocals, earthy percussion, and electronic elements, he creates a powerful sound exploring modern humanity’s distance from nature and a return to primal roots—brought to life by a four-piece ensemble merging spirituality with experimental sound.

[DE] Use Knife entsteht, wenn man die ungefilterte Energie des irakischen Sängers und Perkussionisten Saif Al-Qaissy – der aus dem vom Krieg zerrütteten Irak floh – mit der Leidenschaft für analoge Synthesizer und der Virtuosität auf Blasinstrumenten des belgischen Duos Kwinten Mordijck und Stef Heeren verbindet. Das ist nicht nur Fusion, das ist Alchemie. Während Al-Qaissys arabischer Gesang mit poetischen Anklängen an seine Vergangenheit durchdringt, erschafft die Band wilde, synthlastige Klanglandschaften voller verzerrter Samples, dröhnender Percussion und politischer Dringlichkeit.
Das Ergebnis? Ein Sound, der wie ein Aufstand einschlägt und wie ein Gebet nachhallt. Ihre Musik ist nicht nur eingängig – sie ist konfrontativ, emotional und tiefgründig. Use Knife sprechen nicht nur über den Zusammenprall zwischen Ost und West – sie klingen auch so. Industrielle Growls treffen auf irakische Rhythmen. EBM-Pulse ringen mit Folk-Tonarten. Es ist ein klangliches Tauziehen, das irgendwie in Harmonie mündet.
[EN] Use Knife is what happens when you blend the unfiltered energy of Iraqi vocalist and percussionist Saif Al-Qaissy-who fled war-torn Iraq-with the analog synth obsessions and wind instrument wizardry of Belgian duo Kwinten Mordijck and Stef Heeren. It’s not just fusion; it’s alchemy. As Al-Qaissy’s Arabic vocals cut through with poetic echoes of his past, the band builds fierce, synth-laced landscapes full of distorted samples, booming percussion, and political urgency.
The result? A sound that hits like a riot and resonates like a prayer. Their music isn’t just catchy-it’s confrontational, emotional, and deeply reflective. Use Knife doesn’t just talk about the clash between East and West-they sound like it. Industrial growls meet Iraqi rhythms. EBM pulses wrestle with folk tonalities. It’s a sonic tug-of-war that somehow lands in harmony.

[DE] Seit 2024 spielen Constanza Meléndez und Daniel Door gemeinsam experimentellen Noise-Pop. Mit verzerrtem Taishokoto, Bass-Synths, akustischem Schlagzeug und Sample-Drums erzählen sie von kaputten Wohnungen, Spambot Beschwörungen und kritischer Infrastruktur.
[EN] Since 2024, Constanza Meléndez and Daniel Door have been performing experimental noise pop together. Using distorted taishokoto, bass synths, acoustic drums, and sample-based beats, they explore themes of broken apartments, spambot incantations, and critical infrastructure.
