The next Taxi Salon conjures eerie sonic rituals steeped in mystical dread. The series is dedicated to contemporary music that moves between experimental and leftfield. The program seeks to confront commodified listening culture through preparations, détournements and destructions.
DJ Die Soon – SAQ4IME ft. Sara Persico (Italy / Japan / Germany)
Sara Persico is an Italian sound artist, composer and performer whose work explores the intersection of voice, analog electronics and field recordings. Daisuke Imamura, known as DJ Die Soon, is a Japanese musician, DJ, illustrator and manga artist based in Berlin, Germany. Obsessed with horror themes, he creates an artistic universe by weaving demon masks, Manga and other elements of Japanese culture into his drawings but also into his music, one inducing the other, either way.
Ruhail Qaisar (India)
Ruhail Qaisar is an artist from Leh, Ladakh. His current practice revolves around examining threads of vernacular memory, mythos, and poetics through sound art, compositions, and found sculptures. His music channels the abrasive force of noise and power-electronics into stark socio-political reflection, his work is shaped by geographic isolation and global rupture, this is music as pressure point and alarm.
Tintin Patrone (Germany)
Tintin Patrone is a German-Filipino sound and performance artist based in Hamburg. She is captivated by the exploration of interconnections among music, art, sound, and experimental forms of expression. Her creative works revolve around the visual aspects of music and the ways in which personal and societal connections are established with it. By involving herself with robots and artificial intelligence in her artistic practice, Tintin Patrone challenges established notions of human subjectivity and physical presence.
DTLV Doom (Germany)
DTLV Doom plays charmingly stubborn proto-techno from found sounds, field recordings and one industrial drum synth. For Taxi Salon he prepares a fragmented microloop plunderphonics dj set.
Supported by Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung, as well as by the Cultural Department of the City of Munich.
Taxi Salon is a series of events organized by Import Export.
